Classes with Jungle Swing
Learn the Shim Sham!
The Shim Sham is a routine with a long history that goes as far back as the late 1920s. It started out as a tap number performed at the end of vaudeville acts by the whole cast. Willie Bryant and Leonard Reed adapted it for Swing Dancers and eventually it spread to the Savoy Ballroom and its Lindy Hoppers.
The choreography contains jazz moves that are fun on their own, and great to fit into your partner dancing. We’ll be teaching the version most Swing dancers know, the one performed and taught around the world by one of the most loved Lindy Hoppers ever - Frankie Manning.
